Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanics Dash 8 Experience Position Profile We are currently recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanics with Q400 and/or Twin Otter type courses (preferred). Duties & Responsibilities
- Qualified to perform electrical wire and systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed mechanical & avionics technician in a AMO environment
- Basic knowledge of standard wiring & mechanics practices along with avionics systems experience
- Accurately interpret manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents and manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Repair and fabricate parts as per drawings and standard practices. Wire bundles and assemblies to include proper securing of wires and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors
- Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.E., hydraulic, flight controls and major components
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanics & avionics systems; including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear and electrical systems as well as communication, navigation, flight control, and entertainment systems
- Perform system checks and inspections to ensure mechanics & avionics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
- Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
- Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work
- Properly utilize maintenance & avionics test equipment to perform systems tests and use hand tools to perform installations and repairs
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.E., power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required
- Mush have 5+ years’ experience working on the Dash 8
- Shall hold a current AME “M” license approved by Transport Canada
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Have experience with general aircraft wiring repair, fabrication, and installation.
- Possess the knowledge expected of an Aircraft Mechanic on aircraft types handled by the Company.
- Ability to work 6 days per week - 14: 00 - 20: 30
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
