SUMMARY: The position of Mold Designer Trainee supports senior, intermediate and junior designers in 3D modeling mold components and detailing drawings for manufacturing. This is all done while continually learning all aspects of mold designing. - 3D modeling of mold components, hot runner components, standard components
- 2D detailing of drawings for mold components, hot runner components, standard components
- Interaction with purchasing/manufacturing/CAM/Shop liaison
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard and R & D components
- Adhere to StackTeck mold design standards and practices
- Create Bill of Materials
- College or University related background in Engineering, Sciences, Mechanics
- Experience with 2D CAD and 3D CAD software is required (UNIGRAPHICS/NX preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Previous mold design experience is an asset but not required
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes is an asset
- Teamwork: Working effectively with others – Engineering Team.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude. Attention to detail.
- Organizational skills: To ensure proper maintenance of engineering department records.
