Food Buyer

Are you a Buyer seeking progression? My client, Ireland's leading food retail business is seeking a commercial and passionate Food Buyer to join one of Ireland's oldest and award-winning retailers. You will be responsible for driving category sales and profit in line with the company's plan. The successful candidate will also develop and implement a strategic product range, ensuring it aligns with market trends and business goals. Wicklow based. Package:

Responsibilities of this Food Buyer role include:

• Develop annual plans and budgets aligned with strategy.
• Create effective promotional and marketing plans in line with company strategy.
• Initiate revenue growth through innovation, concept development, and promotional planning.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and source new suppliers as needed.
• Lead category management by developing range plans based on insights, sales, and trends, optimising product selection and selling format.
• Identify and capitalise on market trends and innovations.
• Oversee new product development in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements of this Food Buyer role include:

• Minimum 3 years of buying experience in retail or FMCG.
• Proven track record of driving commercial success.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical skills.
• In-depth product knowledge and passion for food.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel.
