With our GeneXpert System, we’ve taken the most sophisticated molecular diagnostic technologies and packaged them into an automated, easy-to-use format that has quickly become the platform of choice worldwide. By employing the latest tools of bioinformatics, nucleic acid chemistry, amplification technologies and engineering, we are focused on developing tests for pandemic preparedness, healthcare-associated infections, sexual health, critical infectious disease, virology, and oncology applications. The Director, Medical Affairs (Saudi Arabia and Middle East) is responsible for the following activities in the Middle East region:
- Facilitating collaborative relationships with thought leaders internally and externally as advisors, consultants, investigators, expert guest speakers and business development partners.
- Presenting data on product performance or other relevant in various formats (oral presentations, written Med/Sci Affairs documents, publications, webinars, etc.) to all stakeholders, including internal groups such as Sales, Marketing, Tech support, etc. and external groups such as national, regional and international meetings, KOLs, customers and prospective customers to increase portfolio visibility.
- Assisting in clinical trials management with investigator-initiated studies, including securing research contracts, logistics of study start-up, and updates for ongoing studies.
- Providing clinical and lab-based input to product development core teams.
- Generating scientific awareness of Cepheid products pre- and post-launch.
- Regularly collecting and interpreting insights in the medical diagnostics environment particular to point of care tests and providing feedback regarding competitive intelligence.
- Providing support to customers by responding to technical consults, patient safety board referral and request for off-label requests.
- Demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in infectious disease field and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Develop and maintain a working understanding of the Global Health environment relevant to diagnostic needs.
- Establish and maintain a broad network of contacts within relevant stakeholders.
- Engage and collaborate with researchers on independent studies that will drive new applications and expand the footprint of products.
- Work independently, but also receive guidance for most complex problems.
- Gain expertise in the best application of molecular diagnostics.
- Positively Impact a range of internal and external customers, and other related teams.
- Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, or country equivalent degree in medicine) in medicine with specialization in infectious diseases, microbiology or infection prevention and control with 5+ years of related work experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Pleasure working in multicultural environment and matrix structure.
- Fluent in Arabic, excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel (50% regional and some international travel is required).
- Expertise in coordinating and managing diagnostics studies in infectious diseases in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC).
- Biostatistics.
- Regulatory requirements for using and managing on market diagnostics.
- Clinical trials management to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.
