Responsibilities

To provide experienced input to creating solutions for challenges within the delivery of the tenancies to the assets.
To create leasable areas maximising GLA, increasing opportunities for income generation.
To liaise with tenant designers to represent the authentic nature of the brand in keeping with the fabric of the projects.
Collaborate on projects with colleagues, delegate tasks and check projects for quality and consistency.
To review and create Tenant Guidelines and Criteria for various projects.
Fully coordinate Design with MEP requirements for an optimum outcome.
Guide design reviews, supervise and coordinate the work across respective department disciplines.
Direct the coordination of tenant's design and ensure tenant obligations within the Design & Fit-out Guides are understood. If required, prepare an appendix/addendum detailing any agreed variations to the Design & Fit-out guide and forward to the department head for approval.
Be knowledgeable of global design standards and sustainability in design.
Exceptional understanding/knowledge of materials and finishes performance specifications.
Formulate standards checklist for tenant Design submissions.
Ensure design reviews of tenancies comply within the asset and authority requirements.
Ensure the design build ability and efficiency supports the project parameters and objectives.
To lead the sign-off of drawings and documents to the correct status per the project required timeframes.
Check units for Design readiness.
Coordinate team to provide Defect reports of tenant fitouts.
Manage department designers and objectives, evaluating individual design deliverables and overall team performance.
Manage, mentor, inspire and motivate the design team to maintain a professional, relevant and consistent approach.
Provide weekly design status reports.
Formulate Department Design approval standards.
Attend, chair, minute, prepare and issue design minutes in a timely manner.
Monitor the progress towards the achievement of the Design team's KPIs, set direction and targets, and raise corrective and/or preventive actions to address any areas of underperformance or deficiencies to the department Director.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Stakeholders

Internal - Director of Retail, Director of Retail Design & Project Management, Director of Tenant Delivery. External - Contractors / Suppliers / Other Service Providers, Ministries, Authorities, and Other Government Entities, Regulatory Authorities.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years of experience in the Middle East.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
5 years experience managing the design of luxury retail projects regionally.

Skills

Freehand sketching.
Aconex - advanced.

The Senior Manager - Retail Design will be based primarily at Riyadh HQ with regular site visits as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
