Responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic insights on energy modelling solutions that could be leveraged across dry & wet utilities within the organization. This role will serve as centre of expertise internally for the technical services function & shall utilize extensive knowledge of new energy technologies, market trends, and policy frameworks to develop and implement innovative energy modelling solutions that shall drive sustainable growth for RSUC. This role will be key in developing robust, repeatable energy models that can be scaled globally to assess the economics of complex electrical systems required for off-grid applications present within the organization. The role will also provide consultancy services to other organizations or ministries which need support around Energy modelling. Job Responsibilities: Strategic Contribution

  1. Develop functional strategies & roadmaps to come up with tailored solutions around energy modelling thereby aligning with the overall strategic intent of the organization & supporting transition towards cleaner energy solutions with specific focus on renewables.
  2. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, technological innovations and stay updated on policy developments in the renewable energy domain to provide informed recommendations on energy modelling relevant to the business.
Functional Responsibilities
  1. Develop and manage energy models focusing on off-grid power and water utility requirements of the organization’s customer base.
  2. Conduct technical and commercial analysis for the energy models to understand the economic implications of the modelling methodologies.
  3. Continually refine and enhance model assumptions, parameters, and operation to ensure adaptation with evolving market dynamics.
  4. Employ innovative energy modeling techniques to address complex energy challenges posed to the organization.
  5. Conduct comprehensive research on enhancements in energy modeling techniques and technologies for their potential adoption within the organization to offer better & reliable services.
  6. Provide consultancy services for other organizations or ministries which need support around energy modelling, in the kingdom, region or globally.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
  1. Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  2. Maintain relevant functional logs and documentation as mandated by the various statutory and regulatory laws and provide regular statistical reports / MIS on various energy modelling solutions developed to the senior management team.
  3. Identify different aspects of risk associated within energy modelling space and develop mitigation measures to negate or minimize the effect of these risks.
  4. Ensure decisions are made in accordance with ERM policy and guidelines.
Safety, Quality & Environment
  1. Apply safety, quality and environmental management policy, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Relationship Management
  1. Collaborate with government agencies, industry associations, research institutions, and other key stakeholders to foster strategic partnerships and drive collaborative initiatives in the renewable energy modelling space.
  2. Contribute to the identification of opportunities within energy modelling space for continuous improvement of the RSUC function’s systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, business process improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  3. Contribute to the development of thought leadership content, whitepapers, and industry reports to showcase expertise and establish the organization as a leader in the field.
Qualification and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 8-12 years of experience in renewable energy consulting, energy modelling or a related area in utility services, preferably in the off-grid sector.
  3. Good understanding of renewable energy policies, regulations, and market dynamics at the local, regional and international levels.
  4. Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools.
