Project Officer/Project Manager (Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics) Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute focusing on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. In 2021, Enterprise Singapore appointed ERI@N as a Standards Development Organisation (SDO) to develop and promote standards under the Electrical and Electronic Standards Committee, including areas such as renewables, offshore wind/marine & solar energy, secondary batteries, solid state transformers, electrical energy storage systems, and smart grids. We are looking for a passionate Project Manager to support the work of the SDO. Core expertise: Project management responsibilities include managing the identification, development, and promotion of standards meeting key requirements set by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG). This includes supporting standards committees under the management of ERI@N to ensure timely and successful delivery of new and reviewed standards. The PM should have a background in business skills, project management, budgeting, analysis, and stakeholder management. Familiarity with technologies such as power systems, electronics, solar PV, battery systems, and electrification, as well as understanding commercialization, is an advantage. The PM must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and demonstrate the ability to intervene decisively and proactively. Key Responsibilities: Standards development: Support standards committees to identify key areas for standards development from FY 2024 to FY 2026, including meetings with key stakeholders and preparing new work proposals. Support standards committees to develop standards within the timelines and quality requirements set by EnterpriseSG and the industry, including managing meeting preparations, capturing comments, conducting public consultations, and preparing draft standards for publication. Support standards committee leaders in managing key stakeholders to build consensus and address standards implementation issues. Support participation of standards partners in international standardization, including balloting, international meetings, and hosting ISO/IEC TC meetings in Singapore. Standards promotion: Work with standards committees and EnterpriseSG to plan and execute standards promotion events targeting key stakeholders, including industry, government agencies, regulators, research bodies, and the public. Work with standards committees and EnterpriseSG on verification studies to evaluate the adoption of standards by key stakeholders. SDO administration: Assist Head, SDO, and colleagues in managing the SDO budget to ensure budget marksmanship. Ensure compliance with procurement guidelines for EnterpriseSG and NTU. Assist Head, SDO in preparing progress reports for EnterpriseSG, the Singapore Standards Council, and ERI@N management. Assist Head, SDO in audits concerning the operations and financial issues of the SDO. Job Requirements: Competencies and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics. Minimum of 3 years of experience for project manager; entry-level candidates are welcomed to apply but will receive the title of Project Officer. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advantage. Working knowledge in Agile Project Delivery. Working knowledge in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience in the utility or energy and power system industry is a strong advantage. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Added advantage: Experience in adopting or implementing standards. Experience in Interactive Project Management tools like ClickUp, JIRA. Experience in document management tools like SharePoint. Experience in R&D cross-functional New Product/Technology Introduction (NPI/NTI) programs & commercialization. Other Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective team player with a good attitude and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated for documentation maintenance and management.
