Job Title: Principal Civil DesignerLocation: Al-Khobar, Saudi ArabiaJob Description:Wood is looking for a Principal Civil Designer to join our team.Responsibilities:Execute assigned scopes of work.Provide discipline drafting expertise to the team and to the business.Review as-built drawings and assist with the collection of design information required by construction and procurement.Provide guidance to Designers and CADD operators.Conduct site visits to verify site conditions and markup drawings/perform as-built activities.Liaise with project/lead engineers at all levels.Provide design input to project estimates.Actively participate in Competency and Training.Participate in audit and incident investigations as required.Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively.Support and supervise tasks delegated to direct reports/respective team.Provide strong leadership in promoting, demonstrating, and being a role model in accordance with company core values and ethics policy.Monitor team's compliance with competence standards.Qualifications:Minimum 15 years experience in the field of Civil design drafting and 3D Modelling.Engineering Diploma or Equivalent.Relevant experience in Roads, Drainage, Earthworks, Grading, Paving, and Site Development.Extensive experience in the hydrocarbon processing/utilities units, oil/gas industry, refinery, or infrastructure project/process industries with engineering design experience on large projects.Extensive experience with 3D modelling using software such as Civil 3D, Openroads, SP3D, etc.Working knowledge of project QA/QC requirements applicable to drafting function in engineering design.Knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.Extensive experience in preparation of bill of materials.Proficient with codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to drafting function.Competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for drafting function.Experienced in managing and leading discipline designers and draftsmen.Able to liaise with project/lead engineers at all levels.Computer literate (database/spreadsheets).Conversant with company and Client drafting standards and specifications.Proactive leadership of team in a positive and professional manner.Strong English communication skills in both written and spoken forms.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.About Us:Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
