Demi Chef

Support the Section Chef by preparing, presenting, storing and serving a selection of dishes. Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures. Promote the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare, cook, serve and store the dishes.
2. Communicate politely and display courtesy to guests and internal customers.
3. Provide direction to the Kitchen helpers, including Cooks, Kitchen Attendants and Stewards.
4. Communicate to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comments and other relevant information.
5. Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships.
6. Attend and participate in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
7. Attend and participate in training sessions as scheduled.
8. Prepare in advance food, beverage, material and equipment needed for the service.
9. Clean and re-set his/her working area.
10. Implement the hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures.
11. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Accountability

What we need from you?

1. Basic reading, writing and math skills. Some food preparation experience or training preferred.
2. Preferred to have a degree/diploma in Food Production and Patisserie from a recognized institute.
