The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy of the financial records including preparation and submission of financial reports to the management. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and policies and assisting with internal and external audits. This role involves handling key financial analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement and implementation of best practices across the group and providing guidance to the team to ensure the objectives are met. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Analyze the financial data such as revenue, gross margin and cost structures and preparation of reports as per management requirements.
- Weekly reporting of Sales and margin for the preparation of Weekly SSD report to the ALT Committee.
- Preparation and submission of Divisional MIS (Brand/Channel wise) to Finance Controller for review and submission to Management.
- Ensuring financial data accuracy and integrity by maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to accounting standards.
- Financial Analysis
- Reconciliation of Sales, COGS and Gross Margin and maintaining the accuracy of the financial data.
- Analyze the financial data and provide insights and recommendations as required by the management.
- Review and analyze inventory and debtors OOT and calculation of the finance charges to be reported in the MIS as per the company policy.
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Coordination with the Division HODs to establish budget objectives and obtain the data for revenue and margin forecasting for each line of business.
- Identify the cost drivers and allocate the operational expenses as per the business plan of the Operation and Support Division HODs.
- Preparation and submission of Monthly/Quarterly forecast to management as required for feedback and improvement of the business.
- Auditing (Internal/External)
- Communicate with the team and relevant stakeholders in order achieve the timeline agreed with the Internal Control Department.
- Coordinating internal and external audits and supporting auditors with required information.
- Support Decision-Making
- Working closely with Division HODs to provide financial insights that drive business strategy and operational improvements.
- Periodical analysis and reporting at divisional performance level to facilitate the decision-making process.
- Payables (Priority)
- Obtain the priority list of payables from the relevant stakeholders of the division and share with HO-Finance for review and process of payments.
- Follow-up for the payments with HO-Finance as required.
- Others
- Review and maintain the price support and advertisement subsidy details from the principals keep track of the SPGM details.
- Calculation of dealer incentive and sales promotions as per the agreements with the Dealers and maintain the update master data.
- Review and approval of the credit notes issued to Dealers and ensure compliance with the agreement and MIS provisions.
- Review of incentive schemes and ensure they are in the best interest of the stakeholders of the company.
- Calculation and submission of incentive calculations for the Divisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and analysis.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong background in coordinating and supporting internal and external audits.
- Experience in cash flow management and financial analysis.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
- Exposure to managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and compliance standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Ability to work across multiple teams and collaborate effectively with management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial data and provide insights.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Ability to support budget planning, cost control, and financial forecasting.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
