The candidate will be a degree-qualified professional with 3-6 years of traffic engineering, transport planning, and traffic modelling experience. Knowledge of Middle East and/or International Transport Planning standards and practices is required, and transport modelling experience is considered an asset. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies, or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors.
- Work closely with Project Managers and other Atkins departmental staff to ensure timely completion of the necessary analysis, reports, and plans as assigned.
- Complete assigned tasks in adherence to Atkins Quality Manual and Procedures.
- Coordinate with internal design disciplines as well as external stakeholders/statutory authorities.
- Apply technical competencies.
- Candidates based in KSA will be preferred. Arabic language proficiency is advantageous.
- Understanding of transportation planning, development/access planning, public transport planning, and transport demand theory.
- Project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local trends and transport planning practices and standards (UAE and KSA).
- Practical understanding of the role and importance of transport planning in development access, citywide mobility, and assisting people’s needs.
- Experience in providing the appropriate junction analysis to assist traffic impact assessments.
- Contribute to preparation of transport planning reports including existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis, and parking assessments.
- Competence with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and spoken.
- Must be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources.
- Must be willing to travel regionally.
- Hands-on use of industry standard transportation modelling software such as VISUM/VISSIM.
- Hands-on experience in junction/capacity analysis software such as SIDRA & SYNCHRO or similar.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, such as high competency in listening and communicating.
- A positive attitude that always focuses on improving teamwork and cooperation.
- Good communication skills, oral and written, including presentation competency.
- Ability to work without excessive supervision.
