The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care, conducting research, and promoting mental health awareness within the hospital and community.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment & Diagnosis:Conduct psychological evaluations using standardized tests, interviews, and observations.Diagnose mental health conditions and formulate treatment plans.Therapeutic Interventions:Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to patient needs.Utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and other therapeutic modalities.Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Approach:Work with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.Provide guidance to other departments on managing patients with psychological issues.Crisis Intervention:Address acute mental health crises, including suicidal ideation and severe anxiety episodes.Develop safety plans and provide emergency interventions.Education & Awareness:Conduct workshops and training sessions for hospital staff on mental health topics.Promote mental health awareness among patients, families, and the community.Documentation & Research:Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, progress, and treatment outcomes.Participate in or lead research projects to advance mental health care practices.Skills and CompetenciesStrong understanding of psychological theories and evidence-based interventions.Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Proficiency in report writing and maintaining clinical records.Capability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
