Sweco | Senior Engineer Rail Design

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in railway planning and alignment design, combined with strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. This role involves working in a collaborative international environment, including opportunities to engage with teams in Sweden and across Europe.Key Responsibilities:Assess and estimate the scope of work, ensuring clear communication of progress and remaining tasks.Collaborate with technical leads in Sweden and mentor junior designers both in India and Sweden.Perform advanced design work, including drawings, models, and reviews of own and others' designs.Lead complex railway design assignments, including alignment design, template design, cross-sections, rail profiles, and preparation of drawings and design reports.Provide innovative technical solutions independently and proactively suggest improvements to technical leads in Sweden.Foster the learning and professional growth of junior colleagues through guidance and mentoring.Required Qualifications:A minimum of 12 years of experience in railway engineering, with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering (M. Tech)/bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or equivalent academic background).Proven expertise in railway, light rail, or tramway planning and alignment design.Hands-on experience with railway design tasks, including alignment design, template design, cross-sections, rail profiles, and related technical documentation.Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and lead within the rail technical field.Software expertise in Bentley MicroStation, Bentley Power Rail, Open Rail Design, Rail Track, and Power Rail Design.
