Job Family: Corporate PlanningContract Type: DirectLocation: (Location)Business Line: Technical and Marine ServicesDepartment: Technical ServicesClosing Date: 31-Dec-2024Your Future Role & Job PurposePurpose:Position holder is an experienced hands-on leader, capable of setting up and running machine shop equipment and processes, managing teams under his responsibility, acts as a liaison between MRO superintendents and other internal customers and Technical Services Management for day-to-day operations. He/She will advise on the most efficient, cost-effective, and safe techniques and equipment suitable for accomplishing desired results in the given time and budget while preserving the function of our physical assets throughout their life period. Capable of leading his team by example, shares his knowledge gained from extensive industry experience in machining related to Ship and/or Rig MRO. Supports continuous improvement efforts within the Technical Services team, investigation of root cause failures, and deriving preventative and corrective actions.Key Accountabilities & Working RelationshipsKey Accountabilities:Machine shop equipment set up, process flow, availability of required tools, auxiliary equipment, etc.Ensuring smooth execution of CNC and conventional machining works in his area of responsibility.Efficient utilization of equipment and assets, production planning and execution, availability of proper tooling.Manning equipment with trained staff, sufficient for the required task but avoiding excessive idle time.Can lead programming of the machine, setting up of the job with required jigs and holders.Selection of proper inserts, tools, and holders.Developing specifications for new tools, assets, and consumables required to be purchased for business needs, as well as SOPs for existing machinery and other procedures & work instructions as required for his/her scope.Manages production workflows, monitoring the utilization of related equipment and ensuring their most effective usage throughout the lifespan. He/She contributes to the development of the new facility, processes, and organization under his/her command.Support Technical Services General Manager in feasibility studies considering Machine shop capabilities as well as International Standards and Client requirements.Review new projects SOW and provide feedback regarding time (manhours, machining hours) estimation and tooling requirements.Support Technical Services HSE and Inspection teams for complying with quality and safety norms in accordance with Company Policy and QHSE Management System.General management responsibilities of His/Her team in accordance with IMI's policies and applicable laws.Support Technical Services Management as required in effective recruitment, selection, training, and certification of personnel, as well as appraising performance; rewarding and counseling His/Her team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems with participation of Technical Services Management.Work closely with Technical Services HSE team to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment for all employees.Be informed of changes to applicable International Standards and communicate them to relevant departments for implementation & compliance.Execution of other tasks and duties as assigned by Technical Services Management.Working Relationships:Internal Interactions:Technical Services GMTechnical Services HSE, Planning, Materials Control, and other TS TeamsExternal Interactions:MRO teamNew Build Vessel & Rigs project and construction managersAMMO DepartmentWho We Are Looking ForEducation:Diploma or Vocational school in machining combined with required experience.Experience:At least 15+ years of similar role, preferably within shipbuilding or similar industry.Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):Milling, Grinding, Lathe and other machining operationsCAD, CAM softwareCNC Programming (G and M-code)Manual editing of machine programsCompetencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Deep knowledge of milling, grinding, lathe and other machining operations.Good knowledge of CNC programming as well as manual editing.Practical knowledge of CAD, CAM software; capable of reviewing design and advising feasibility of manufacturing.Good knowledge of machine-related equipment and processes (e.g., tooling, inserts, coolant, chip removal, etc.).Very good knowledge of metrology, gauging, and related equipment.Drafting of required SOPs and other procedural documents.Cost conscious and conservative with resources.Work under pressure.Languages:About Application ProcessIf you meet the criteria and you are enthusiastic about the role, we would welcome your application.
