Come and be a part of this success. About the Role Are you a qualified electrician with a strong focus on safety looking to transition into the mining industry? Come and join our team at BHP and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our Iron Ore sites! This role is Flying In and Flying Out (FIFO) from Perth and working on a dynamic 182 roster. You will execute shutdown planned maintenance across our 5 inland Iron Ore mine process plants within the central and eastern Pilbara regions (Yandi, Area C, South Flank, Jimblebar & Whaleback). A dynamic 182 roster is made up of 182 shifts per year. Shifts will be dependent on demand, but because you will be a permanent employee you will still receive a consistent fortnightly pay regardless of the number of shifts worked. More information on the Dynamic roster can be found here . Key responsibilities:
- Fixed Plant Maintenance on Extra Low Voltage, Low Voltage and High Voltage equipment
- Inspection, servicing, testing, and reporting of faults on Electrical Systems
- Maintenance and modification of cables, equipment, and associated structures
- Installation of new cables, equipment, and associated structures
- Protection equipment inspections
- Residual Current Device testing
- Ramp down & ramp up electrical support
- HV (RADIAL) and LV Isolations
- Application & removal of shutdown lock boxes
- Electrical trade licence and completion of apprenticeship
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- The ability to work within a team environment and build effective working relationships
- Exposure to various electrical systems to further your exposure and experience
- Development opportunities to further your skillset in mining
