Food Technologist - Festive

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

• Being part of the Astral Poultry Division Technical Team in providing technical assistance to all Business Units.
• Evaluating and maintaining product composition, product labelling, and specification compliance (KPI monitoring).
• Driving NPD projects in accordance with protocol:
• Conducting factory trials and feasibility studies.
• Liaising with relevant suppliers, customers, and government bodies when needed.
• Drafting specifications.
• Conducting sensory evaluations.
• Final product approval.
• Conducting factory trials aimed at improved product and process profitability.
• Interpreting customer needs and conducting product testing at their premises.

• Matric Qualification.
• BSc in Food Science or B. Tech in Food Technology Degree.
• Strong background in food labeling legislation.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the meat industry; food service background beneficial.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, self-starter, and ability to work independently while juggling multiple tasks.
• Ability to meet deadlines and use initiative.
• Maintain 20 keys.
