Role Definition

Aventa is looking for a talented and motivated R&D Engineer specializing in Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Cable Accessories manufacturing. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field of power transmission.

Our undisclosed client holds a significant position in the EHV/HVDC Cable manufacturing sector throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, GCC, and the wider MENA region, celebrated for their innovative strategies and steadfast commitment to excellence. They take a proactive stance in advancing their industrial domain through the production of EHV/HVDC Accessories, particularly focusing on Joints & Termination solutions.

Responsibilities:

Designing Accessories: Develop designs for accessories such as joints and terminations required for EHV and HVDC systems. This involves conceptualizing, modeling, and detailing the components using CAD software.

Software Utilization: Apply specialized software tools for stress analysis, CAD modeling, and other design tasks. Ensure proficiency in relevant software packages to optimize design efficiency and accuracy.

Material Selection: Conduct thorough material selection processes to choose the most suitable materials for accessories based on factors like electrical properties, mechanical strength, durability, and environmental conditions.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, installation teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of accessories into overall system designs.

Testing and Evaluation: Conduct testing and evaluation of accessory designs to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Research and Development: Conduct research and development activities focused on EHV and HVDC cable accessories, including but not limited to terminations, joints, and connectors.

Design and Prototyping: Design and prototype new products and solutions that meet technical specifications and customer requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, testing, and quality assurance to ensure successful product development and commercialization.

Analysis and Simulation: Perform detailed analysis and simulation using relevant software tools to optimize product performance and reliability.

Industry Trends: Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to EHV and HVDC cable accessories.

Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical expertise to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field is typically required.

Experience: Demonstrated proficiency as a design engineer specializing in EHV/HVDC accessories is a prerequisite.

Proven experience in research and development within the power transmission industry, specifically in EHV and HVDC cable accessories.

Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes related to cable terminations, joints, and connectors.

Proficiency in engineering software tools for design and analysis (e.g., CAD, FEA, CFD).

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
