What the role is: A little bit about who we are... The Community Chest, formed since 1983, is the largest centralised fund-raising body for social services in Singapore to lighten social service organisations from the burden of fund-raising. The mandate of the Group was expanded in 2015 to include the role of Secretariat to the President’s Challenge, Office of the President of Singapore, and has gone beyond traditional fund-raising to engaging the community, public, family offices, foundations and the corporates in creating sustainable solutions to address social challenges and foster a more inclusive society. The role as we see it... We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Philanthropic Partnerships team, focusing on fundraising and partnership development under the auspices of the President’s Challenge. In this role, you will work closely with the President’s Office, President’s Challenge Council as well as key stakeholders including the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and industry partners to catalyse civic initiatives to foster a culture of unity and respect for all, as well as promote volunteerism and multiculturalism in the different fields of endeavour. You will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies to engage philanthropic donors, corporations, and partners to support the mission and programs under the President’s Challenge. You will lead efforts to secure funding while building long-term partnerships that maximize resources and drive social impact. The candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of the President’s Challenge’s daily operational matters from donor relations, event management, publicity to fund management and annual audit. Strategy Development: Identify and establish partnerships with philanthropic donors, corporations, government agencies, trade associations, impact partners and Social Service Agencies (SSAs) to leverage resources and maximize impact. Identify and cultivate new donor segments/revenue streams by leveraging the extensive suite of NCSS resources. Sector Development & Advocacy: Foster and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other stakeholders to increase the giving of Time, Treasure and Talent. Lead sector-specific fundraising initiatives, including campaigns, events, and appeals, in close coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with President’s Office and internal teams to ensure fundraising and partnership efforts are aligned with the President’s Challenge’s mission and objectives. Work with President’s Challenge’s Council and key stakeholders to strategise and implement various philanthropic and volunteerism initiatives. Donor Management, Insights and Reporting: Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on fundraising activities to ensure accountability and transparency. Utilize and refine donor data and insights to enhance donor experience and satisfaction. Ensure risk management/mitigation on systems and public facing platforms and touchpoints. Event Management: Plan and manage President’s Challenge signature events such as Istana Open Houses and other President’s Challenge-related events such as media launches. Secretariat Duties: Support the meetings of the President’s Challenge Council and EXCO. Budget: Secure funding of President’s Challenge’s operational budget, as well as manage and have clear oversight on her income and expenses. What we are looking for: Personal Competencies: Highly motivated, meticulous and organised Business acumen combined with high emotional intelligence Analytical with the ability to make good judgement calls Resourceful, agile and proactive in taking initiative Embraces ambiguity while continuously seeks progress and improvement Capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments Passionate about creating a meaningful impact in the social service sector Skills & Knowledge: Proven track record of successfully securing major gifts, grants, and/or partnerships Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the experience in crafting persuasive proposals and presentations Advanced data literacy and comfortable with analysing spreadsheets and dashboards Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Experience: Experience in the following will be added advantage: Partnerships and Community Engagement Business development Sales and marketing Fundraising People-Private-Public sector collaborations Digital marketing Special Certification(s): Knowledge of social services and experience with public service procurement practices will be an added advantage.
