Our purpose - True Hospitality for Good - comes to life in every one of our collections.We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing genuine heartfelt care to our guests, colleagues, owners, and communities.Your Day-to-DayCommunicate the company goals to engineers and professionals in the team.Work with the design team to develop safe, efficient, and effective projects that fall within budget.Manage relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers through excellent communication skills.Evaluate costs associated with each project, including material, labor, and time expenses.Produce and monitor budgets for program activities such as POMEC, CAPEX, and project costs.Meet with senior managers to discuss project progress and provide support.Maintain superior budgeting and cost management abilities to assess estimated costs early in the project and bring actual costs in line.Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.Oversee the safety of the worksite during development.Review equipment rounds, service requests, and maintenance schedules for all equipment.Monitor and adjust HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.Contribute to the management team to share ideas and improve operations.Participate in sustainability programs and review utility systems.Perform quality control checks on all systems and products.Maintain guestrooms using preventive maintenance programs.Document safety, quality, and environment inspections.Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.Identify and deploy technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects.Resolve disputes between staff and acknowledge good work.Monitor task completion and performance.Supervise the maintenance department, scheduling, hiring, training, and coaching staff.Analyse data and draft reports for review.PeopleDirect daily engineering needs and assign work to the right team.Develop your team's performance through coaching and feedback.Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination.Stay informed of maintenance needs and respond to requests from department heads.Responsible BusinessOversee hotel operations, including maintenance and repair.Minimise waste and maintain green initiatives.Be responsible for hotel security to minimise risk.Perform ad-hoc duties when needed.AccountabilitiesThis is the top Maintenance/Engineering job in a large, luxury resort or flagship hotel. Supervises a staff of maintenance/engineering tradespersons and contractors. May oversee subordinate managers and supervisors.What We Need From YouSome college or advanced vocational training.Four years' experience in general building maintenance and/or construction.Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required.Hotel experience preferred.What You Can Expect From UsWe offer a competitive salary, a wide range of benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
