Job Title: Regular or Visiting Faculty in Economics Location: American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates Vacancy: 1 Vacancy Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Business Administration (Management)
  2. Master of Education (Education)
  3. PhD in Economics (preferably from North America) by the starting date (January or August 2025)
Job Description: The Department of Economics at American University of Sharjah invites applications for one or more regular and visiting positions. The regular position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, whereas visiting appointments at any rank will be considered. Fields are open, with preference for those listed in the JEL Classification: C, E, I, J. Senior applicants must have an established research record and strong teaching credentials. Junior applicants must have strong research agendas and teaching skills. All applicants must be able to work effectively with a diverse student body. Faculty are expected to publish in reputable academic journals and excel in teaching. The salary is competitive, tax-free in the UAE, and commensurate with experience. Seed research funds for junior faculty, free housing, paid utilities, and other benefits are also provided. Department Overview: The Department of Economics is part of the School of Business Administration (SBA) and consists of 16 regular faculty members who support two undergraduate degrees in economics, a master's in economics and policy, other SBA programs, and the general education program. AUS is a comprehensive, independent, non-profit, coeducational institution serving about 5,800 students from approximately 90 nationalities.
