Matsya aims to align its stock selection strategy with practices from top global hedge funds, focusing on fundamental research with a medium to long-term perspective across various sectors.Matsya Capital excels in identifying and analyzing mispriced stocks and abnormal market movements.Internship ResponsibilitiesAssist and set up processes to organize, store and analyze data setsUse statistical techniques to mine insights from available dataUtilize time series analysis to meticulously sift through data points, identifying pivotal patterns, trends, and irregularities that inform our strategies.Collaborate in creating back-tested models and trading signals that can boost returns and improve alphaStatistically evaluate performance of these models, refining and scaling successful strategies to optimize our portfolioAssist in developing and refining quantitative tools to aid portfolio managers in stock selection, portfolio optimization and risk managementCreate, maintain and upgrade algorithms and macros to automate repetitive tasks across the organisationDesign interactive dashboards to help the team visualise and drill-down into data residing in our financial models and frameworksBe on the lookout for opportunities to introduce ML and AI tools across the investment processesWhat You NeedCurrently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.Basic understanding of statistical analysis, data modeling, and machine learning algorithms and programming tools such as R and SAS or MatlabShould have experience or understanding of Time Series analysisFamiliarity with programming languages such as Python or R, and tools like SQL for database managementExcellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex analysis in a clear and understandable mannerNote: This internship post is a general overview and does not encompass all tasks or responsibilities that may be required for the position.
