SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer (Solar PV System) to join our dynamic team at SunRise Solar Solutions in Taman Molek Johor. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in the design, implementation and maintenance of our state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and grid-connected PV (GCPV) projects. What you'll be doing

1. Creating full set Electrical drawings for Utility, Industry, and Commercial scale Solar projects.
2. Creating electrical one-line diagrams, and panel system design and conducting PVsyst Analysis.
3. Creating cable schedules and create equipment detail sheets including DC and AC systems.
4. Gaining deep knowledge of PV system components like modules, racking, inverters, and BOS.
5. Responsible for the design contents as assigned together with its follow-up for Authority and Client’s approval.
6. Participate in progress meetings and workshops for design projects.
7. Liaise with SEDA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and TNB for solar-related matters.
8. Conducting site feasibility studies and assisting with site surveying for PV layouts, building measurements, and solar trajectory, shading, and power output calculations.
9. Coordinate with other discipline engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design projects.
10. Responsible for the preparation of design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for the design projects under the supervision of senior engineers/ managers.
11. Maintain proper records of all issued & received documents and reports. Perform regular documents and housekeeping work in the project directory.
12. Reporting to senior engineers/project managers and ensuring regular progress updates.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the solar energy industry, with a strong background in solar PV and GCPV system design and implementation
• Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, standards and regulations related to solar PV and GCPV systems
• Proficient in the use of engineering software and tools for system design, modelling and analysis
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability
