Job Responsibilities:
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials, components, and welded joints to detect defects such as cracks, corrosion, or structural weaknesses.
- Utilize testing methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), and Eddy Current Testing (ECT).
- Follow established NDT procedures, codes, and safety regulations to ensure the highest quality and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO, API).
- Inspect and evaluate the integrity of materials, welds, and structures without causing damage to the inspected item.
- Calibrate NDT equipment and tools, ensuring they meet operational standards and maintain accuracy in testing.
- Document and report findings, including detailed inspection results, photographs of defects, and sketches or diagrams when necessary.
- Interpret and analyze test results to assess material integrity and identify any areas of concern or potential failure.
- Prepare NDT reports and documentation, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other personnel to interpret NDT results and recommend corrective actions or adjustments.
- Maintain and clean NDT equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Assist in the development and improvement of NDT procedures and processes to enhance testing efficiency and quality.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during all NDT operations to protect personnel and equipment.
- Participate in quality audits, safety meetings, and training sessions as required.
