Description The Mechanical Workshop Foreman works within a construction company, such as in civil engineering and excavation. Its main role is to supervise the work of the various departments of the mechanical workshop, in particular those related to the repair, maintenance and improvement of the machinery fleet. He is also responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of operations and may be required to carry out mechanical work as needed. Responsibilities •Supervise the teams working in the different departments of the mechanical workshop, including the construction equipment, welding and bodywork departments. •Plan and organize repair, maintenance and improvement tasks for the machinery fleet, taking into account priorities, available resources and deadlines. •Ensure the quality of the work carried out by ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures, as well as the technical specifications of the equipment. •Collaborate with company departments to identify equipment repair and maintenance needs, and provide recommendations for process improvement. •Perform regular inspections of machinery to identify potential problems and recommend corrective action. •Coordinate training and professional development activities for team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their tasks effectively. •Keep track of inventory of spare parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repair work, and place orders in a timely manner. •Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards and ensuring equipment and tools are used appropriately. •Provide technical support to team members and resolve complex technical issues as needed. •Participate in carrying out mechanical work when necessary, providing technical expertise and supervising operations. •Ensure health and safety in different departments. Requirements •Degree in construction equipment mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience. •Significant experience in the field of heavy machinery mechanics. •Experience in supervising or managing teams, with strong leadership and people management skills. •In-depth knowledge of the principles and techniques of repair, maintenance and improvement of heavy equipment. •Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams and technical manuals related to heavy machinery. •Good communication and problem-solving skills. •Ability to make decisions, quickly and informed. •Ability to report to management, strategy and recommendations. •Good priority management. •Be a good teacher. •Valid driver's license and availability to travel to job sites according to business needs. •Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with current regulations in the construction industry.
