We are recruiting a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a wonderful primary school in Guildford. This full-time role is perfect for graduates eager to kick-start a career in child psychology, education, or SEN support. About the Role:
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Guildford
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, during term time
- Role Type: 1:1 support for a child with specific needs, including speech and language, behavioural challenges, or high SEN requirements.
- Contract: Ongoing, with the potential to become permanent.
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and other professionals to implement effective learning strategies and interventions.
- Encourage positive behaviours, build self-confidence, and promote independence in the child you support.
- Support the classroom environment to ensure inclusivity for all pupils.
- A recent graduate in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Passion for working with children, particularly those with SEN, behavioural, or communication challenges.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in an educational or caregiving setting is a plus but not essential.
- Gain hands-on experience working directly with children with additional needs.
- Build a foundation for a future career as an Educational or Clinical Psychologist.
- Work in a nurturing and supportive primary school environment.
