Job Location : Lagos Deadline : December 31, 2024 Quick Recommended Links Overview:- We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate provides legal advice and support to ensure the organization's operations and transactions comply with regulatory, corporate, and contractual requirements. This role involves managing legal risks, drafting and reviewing documentation, and advising on financial and corporate governance issues to safeguard the institution's interests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including banking regulations, financial services laws, and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Advise the Board of Directors and senior management on corporate legal matters.
- Provide guidance on disputes, litigation, and claims involving borrowers or third parties.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks related to lending and financial operations.
- Provide strategic legal advice on financial regulations, corporate governance, and contractual obligations
- Curate and review legal paperwork and documentation that protects and support the company interest while adhering to corporate compliance law
- Improvise and oversee the company policies on legal affairs periodically as the company attorney
- Guide the management team and stakeholders on the legal directions
- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from a recognized university and registered with the bar council
- Five years of relevant work experience in corporate law, ideally within the finance, banking, or lending sectors.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and lending practices is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in MS office and general computer use
- Attention to detail, proactive risk management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong ethical grounding and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
