تفاصيل الوظيفة

Bayswater Education is a vibrant network of global educational centres dedicated for over 70 years to educate and inspire global people through a life-changing educational experience. We’re passionate about growing communities of global thinkers and explorers, at home and abroad – whatever their story. We set up Bayswater Education because we want young people from every walk of life to get a buzz from discovering new cultures, exploring new flavours, and learning what’s out there. We think of them as global spirits, like ourselves. Bayswater Education offers:

  • High Quality Language Courses in 10 year-round locations across 5 countries - UK, France, South Africa, Cyprus & Canada
  • Career-focused Short Courses for Generation Z in London, Paris and Online like Digital Marketing or Fashion - Bayswater College bayswater.ac
  • Leading Summer Camps at 7 locations across the UK and in Cyprus - Bayswater Summer bayswatersummer.com
Designed for today’s young people, our network of centres offers students a chance to learn valuable vocational skills, inspire life-changing experiences and teach them the value of giving back. For every week of tuition that a student studies with us, we give a week of education to underprivileged people from various countries around the world. WHAT DO WE VALUE MOST? Bayswater Education is built on five values:
  1. Think in generations, not numbers: Consider the impact of your work; our legacy is our alumni.
  2. Challenge what we know: Consider new and better ways to do things; don't just accept what is standard.
  3. Love your community: Cultivate and care for our own internal community as well as the ones we create for young people.
  4. Keep an open mind and an open door: Be accepting to all kinds of people and cultures.
  5. Champion the spirit of adventure: Celebrate the big wide world, and inspire exploration, discovery and experience.
These values are frequently referred to, they show up in our marketing and in the way we treat our students. They can be used on a daily basis as a reference when approaching a situation, when talking to stakeholders, when you're not sure what to do, when needing inspiration and when recruiting new team members. The salary will depend on applicant’s experience, size of centre and the number of students at the centre. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CENTRE MANAGER Centre Managers are responsible for the overall running of a centre with its day-to-day administration and student welfare, arrivals/departures and inductions for staff, students and group leaders, as well as overseeing the implementation of the academic and activity programmes. A typical day can be eventful and no two days will be exactly the same. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Where are Bayswater Summer’s centres?
  • London - University of Westminster (Harrow Campus)
  • London - University of Greenwich (Greenwich Campus)
  • Oxford - Oxford Brookes University (Headington Campus)
Where is head office? Bayswater Education’s head office is based at the original year-round college in Bayswater, London. Many of our staff work from home, so if you’re interested in meeting somebody from the team, please email to find out what days we’ll be working from the office. I am available in August but not in July. Can I still work for Bayswater? The Centre Manager is integral to the running of the Summer camp. Therefore, for this role, we require you to be available for the duration of the programme. I am not a UK citizen - can I still work for you? If you have a working visa and/or relevant permission to work in the UK, then yes. We will need to see proof of your right to work in the UK prior to offering you a contract. We’re unable to sponsor Visa applicants. You’ll also need a valid National Insurance number and a UK bank account. How long will my contract be? This will depend on the centre. All of our centres have different opening and closing dates due to campus availability and student availability. Contracts will vary from 4 – 9 weeks. How many hours per week will I work? You will typically work 6 days a week and approximately 48 hours per week which will include residential duties, administrative work, planning of arrivals/departures and inductions, liaising with venue staff and your centre team, and student supervision such as mealtimes and curfew/bedtime. Your duties may also include activities, local visits and excursions. Can you provide me with accommodation? Yes, all Centre Managers will be residential with full board. How many days off will I get? You will be given one day off per week. This day will vary depending on the centre and it’ll be confirmed by your line manager. Can I choose where I will work? We will take your preferred centres into consideration. However, locations depend on the dates available, the quantity of staff needed and the number of students attending the centre. If you know a certain town/city particularly well, that will help your application for that location. Will I only work at one centre? This depends on your general availability. It is possible to work at multiple centres. Some of our centres finish earlier in the summer, so there could be the possibility to fill openings at other centres as the summer progresses. This can be discussed during your interview. Will I be able to use Bayswater Summer as a reference for future employers? Training Will I have to attend training before my centre opens? Yes, we will be holding training in London in the last week of June. Will I need to prepare anything before attending the training day? You will need to complete a short online Safeguarding course before arrival, as well as Prevent Duty training. Details will be sent out nearer the time. What do I need to bring to the induction? During the recruitment process we will ask you to email copies of your passport and any relevant qualifications. It is essential that you bring the originals to the induction day. Working at a Bayswater Summer Centre You report to the Operations Manager. What happens on the day that I arrive at the centre? Typically, you will meet the rest of the management team and become familiar with your centre surroundings. All managers will need to arrive at the centre a few days before students arrive, to set up the centre for the summer. You will brief the other managers in your team, and start setting up the centre with them. Where do the students come from and how old are they? Most of our students come from Italy, Brazil and China, but we welcome students from Spain, Germany, Argentina, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Ukraine, Romania, Laos, Uruguay and more. The mix of students you have will depend on which centre you are in and what period. You could have a mix of twelve different nationalities, or just one or two. The vast majority of our students will be aged 12-17, although on some courses, there may also be 18-year-olds. How many students will there be in my centre? There will be between 40-500 students in your centre at any one time. The number of students will depend on which centre you are placed in. Will I ever have to lead activities at the centre? CMs are not expected to lead activities or excursions. However, there could be times when excursions or activities require CM supervisory duty. The greater your centre presence, the more effective the role will be. Also, the more willing you are to get involved with activities, the more enjoyment you will have, and this will also make you more approachable to the students. What is the dress code? As an employee of Bayswater Summer you will be representing the company by wearing a staff T-shirt or sweatshirt when on shift. The rest of your dress can be casual, but must always remain appropriate. It’s important that you are always dressed appropriately for excursions and activities as well as meeting with external/local agents. Can I park at the centre? This will depend on the centre. Limited parking may be available and can’t be guaranteed. Please let the recruitment team know if you require parking when you are interviewed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
