What the role is: As a Deputy Director, Digital Innovation & Ventures Accelerator in the Information Technology Division (ITD), you will support the Head of Digital Innovation in leading MOE’s efforts to shape and drive impactful digital innovation across MOE, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. You will collaborate with HQ divisions to identify high-impact opportunities, facilitate business process improvements, and scale digital innovation efforts across the Ministry. You will also play a pivotal role in enabling the development and adoption of scalable, user-centered solutions that address critical challenges in education and administration. Additionally, you will benefit from strong professional mentorship from the Director and technical guidance from the IT team, ensuring you are well-supported in building your expertise and delivering meaningful innovation. This position is ideal for individuals eager to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact in the education sector. What you will be working on: Strategic Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Work closely with HQ divisions to guide the refinement of problem statements and develop tailored solutions to address specific challenges, enhancing teaching, learning, and administrative processes. Innovation Process Facilitation: Facilitate business process re-engineering and service delivery improvements to optimize workflows and outcomes and lead the organization of advisory workshops to support business teams, sharing insights and promoting participation. Capacity Building and Grassroots Innovation: Empower MOE staff with problem-solving skills and knowledge of existing digital tools to enable self-directed innovation and create resources and toolkits to encourage grassroots digital innovation across the Ministry, supporting divisions in adopting human-centered approaches. Operational Support and Scaling Innovation: Develop a structured approach to scale successful digital innovation efforts across MOE, ensuring they are impactful and sustainable. Metrics and Performance Tracking: Establish and track metrics to measure the success and impact of innovation projects, focusing on usability, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management: Foster strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and buy-in for innovation efforts. What we are looking for: Innovation Leadership and Business Acumen: Proven ability in delivering results through strategic leadership, business analysis, and stakeholder management. Strong experience in facilitating business process improvements and leading projects to completion. Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with digital prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), user journey mapping, and emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and data analytics is advantageous. Willingness to learn and pick up new technical skills to support innovation efforts. Agile and Change Management Expertise: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including supporting rapid prototyping and driving process improvements, is advantageous. A willingness to learn and apply Agile principles and change management practices to facilitate the adoption of innovative solutions across large organizations is essential. Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Strong conceptual and analytical skills to deliver innovative, impactful solutions. Ability to guide teams through problem refinement, solution development, and business case creation. Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategies and outcomes from workshops to senior leadership and partners.
