Vice President of Engineering

VP Engineering - Software Development (Java) London / 1- 3 days per week (Could be flexible) Circa £120k - £150k plus Bonus & Benefits This is a great opportunity for an experienced VP Engineering to lead inspire current Backend (Java) Engineering & QA teams. The successful candidate will have a background in software development and bring strong technical instincts while leading a growing, multi-disciplinary team. This role is focused on people leadership, team management, and driving software delivery while. Experience in financial services software development is a significant advantage, although specific domain knowledge is not essential. Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the software engineering teams within the UK and in Holland
• Own and drive the software delivery plan, collaborating with Product Management to prioritise and schedule work.
• Ensure the engineering teams adhere to company policies, fostering transparency, continuous improvement, and best practices.
• Work with other Engineering Managers to promote cross-team collaboration, share resources, and enhance product integration.

• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary, multi-site engineering teams
• Strong technical background with expertise in Java development.
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and mentor future engineering leaders.
• A deep understanding of large financial services clients' needs, with a focus on delivering mission-critical, high-volume, near real-time systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent the organisation to clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to change and effectively communicate its impact.
