Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our practice in managing U.S. tax matters for high-net-worth individuals and trusts with international tax considerations. The ideal candidate will oversee client interactions, ensure compliance, conduct tax research, and provide advisory services. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our clients meet their tax obligations effectively while optimizing their tax positions in an increasingly complex global environment. Roles and Responsibilities: Client Management and Relationship Building
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients with international tax needs, maintaining and developing trusted advisor relationships.
- Proactively identify and address client concerns, opportunities, and tax planning strategies.
- Lead client onboarding processes, including gathering detailed information and understanding client objectives.
- Communicate complex tax issues clearly to clients, providing actionable recommendations.
- Manage the entire compliance process for individual and trust clients, including preparation, review, and filing of U.S. federal and state tax returns with international components (e.g., Forms 3520, 3520-A, 5471, 8621, 8865, and 8938).
- Oversee preparation of IRS filings for trusts and estates, including fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) with cross-border considerations.
- Ensure compliance with Foreign Bank Account Reporting (FBAR) and other foreign financial asset disclosure requirements.
- Coordinate with staff and junior tax professionals to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in deliverables.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues, including Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFICs), Subpart F income, Foreign tax credit planning and Tax treaty interpretation.
- Provide strategic advice on tax-efficient structures for cross-border estate planning and wealth preservation.
- Assist clients with expatriation planning and compliance (e.g., Form 8854).
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing training on technical tax issues and client management.
- Review work prepared by team members, ensuring high standards of quality and technical accuracy.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting best practices across the firm.
- Must have Mcom/MBA degree.
- 9 -17 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong expertise on U.S. federal and state tax returns with international components (e.g., Forms 3520, 3520-A, 5471, 8621, 8865, and 8938).
