Job Description Job Title - Engineer ( Highway Lighting ) - ITS Job Location - Bengaluru Business Stream – Engineering Work Experience - 4 to 8 Years Role Summary We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual who can work both as part of a team and individually who will be able to support with the delivery of the lighting and electrical elements of a range of Transport & Infrastructure projects, including but not limited to residential areas, car parks and motorway installations (Strategic Road Network) This role is for a Lighting Design Engineer, preferably with a minimum of 4 Years experience as Lighting Engineer in a highways lighting environment. - Provide input to desktop studies & assist with lighting assessments reports;
- To contribute to the production of lighting technical specification.
- Ensure a clear understanding of project scope and the deliverables to be produced.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and meet prescribed project deadlines..
- Provide regular work status updates, including project progress, risks, issues, concerns, or changes to the Senior Engineer/Project Manager.
- Responds to/track identified design checks and challenges.
- Attend and contribute to team and project meetings as required.
- Maintain focus and integrity towards the delivery of CRC's strategy.
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
- Work in coordination with all other design team members.
- Coordinate with and direct CAD Technicians concerning technical, quality requirements and delivery timelines.
- Support the companies approach to sustainability.
- Undertake Learning and Development including attendance at CPD events, exhibitions and seminars.
- Good computer skills including a working knowledge of proprietary software such as Lighting Reality and Dialux.
- Experience in lighting design to the relevant British and EU Standards, manuals and Guidance Notes.
- Experience in consultancy or development background with a bias on private sector work. Ability to seek clarity of instructions, check own work before submitting for approval, agree and meet timescales for items of work.
- Understanding of relevant standards and legislation including Health & Safety
- Experience in coordinating with multi-offices and multi-discipline projects.
- Meet appropriate service/design decisions.
- Inform more senior staff and peers of important and relevant service/design decisions, assert that the objectives of the company and the client are being achieved.
- Coordinating your work with other members of the project team.
- Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions in advance of detailed design.
- Good English communication skills are essential.
- Experience in Dialux, Dialux Evo, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation cad and visualization
- Experience of undertaking lighting impact assessments and traffic sign electrical network design would also be ideal.
- Membership of the Institution of Lighting Professionals or Institute of Electrical and Technology (preferably AMILP / MILP or working towards these memberships)
- Experience in complementary infrastructure fields such as roads and highways, LV electrical networks.
- Previous project experience in any UK lead office, including coordinating with local government agencies for design approvals will also be preferred.
- Awareness of UK local authority specifications
- Completion or part completion of the ILP’s Lighting Exterior Lighting Diploma or equivalent
