Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their team in the food production industry.Responsibilities:Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular cost reports for management.Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documentation, and records.Perform cost accumulation tasks and apply cost accounting techniques to capture all costs of production.Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and standard costs, identifying the reasons for variances and recommending corrective actions.Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into cost trends.Coordinate with the production team to ensure accurate cost allocation and inventory valuation.Monitor and report on key cost drivers, providing recommendations for cost control and reduction.Prepare financial statements and reports related to production costs.Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.Key Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.Experience with budget preparation, cost analysis, and financial reporting.Qualifications:Degree or Diploma/B. Tech in Cost Accounting or Management Accounting is essential.A minimum of three years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably within the food production or manufacturing industry.Professional certification is an advantage but not required.
