Description of business in JRI Philippine branch
The JRI Philippine branch covers developments, maintenance, and operations of IT systems for SMFG group companies to catch up with robust IT requirements in the group and to enlarge IT development capacity with skillful IT resources from off-shore centers. The Philippine branch is the first captive off-shore IT center of SMFG.
It will start with development/operation projects for JRI HO and its Singapore branch due to the limited availability of IT resources in Japan and Singapore. JRI expects the Philippines to provide rich resources to projects in those countries and contribute to faster and better implementation mainly in the following areas.
- System development and testing services for banking applications and internal applications to SMFG group companies
- Developments and testing services of cloud services supporting the group’s SDG initiatives
- IT platform / Infrastructure support services
- Desktop support services
There will be a business trip to Japan as well, and the person can build their career and experience as well.
As a manager, we expect the person to manage other members of the team as well.
Below are the examples of the actual systems/apps planned for development/testing:
Web service for calculating/reducing CO2 emissions for Japanese companies (Web)
Payment system for SMBC APAC branch (particularly for Indonesia initially) (.Net)
CRM system for use within SMBC in Japan and overseas (Salesforce)
Technologies:
a) Cloud services like Amazon web services, Microsoft Azure including Microsoft365 and Power Platform
b) Programming languages: Java, .Net, and other major script languages
c) Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL, etc.
d) Other market products of banking applications
Mandatory:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Delivery Management specifically in providing application development and infrastructure operations services
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing an offshore team of at least 50 people in the Philippines
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with proven experience in hiring and building teams for IT services
- Client management skills and actual client-facing experience building and maintaining relationship
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet stakeholder requirements and needs
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and presentation skills 7. Amenability to work onsite in Makati, Philippines
