ROLE OVERVIEW

NEOM is seeing an exciting new role for a Senior Project Manager – Desalination. This role reports to the Project Director – Desalination within its Water Supply department. The Water Supply department has multiple assets to design, construct and install across the NEOM region in order to meet water demand profiles for construction, irrigation, consumption etc. These projects range from green-field construction, the provision of facilities to hook-up a desalination barge and hook-up and commissioning of existing containerized assets within the region. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for one or more of these projects, planning, organizing, executing and ensuring successful completion of Water Supply projects within scope, schedule and budget.

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager will provide site-based oversight and management services for the Water Supply Team on a range of water production / desalination projects within NEOM Water. Responsibilities include:

Existing Desalination Plant Upgrade:

A Waste Water Treatment plant
Conversion of the remineralization system to a saturator based design
Conversion of the disinfection process from using Chlorine Dioxide to Sodium Hypochlorite
Ensure facility compliance with High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) Class I requirements
Ad-hoc civil and Instrumentation and Control upgrades to optimize the process plant
Construction of onshore jetty, post-treatment and export facilities to support a 50 Million Litres a Day (MLD) Desalination Barge
The hook-up of NEOM-owned 21 (MLD) containerized desalination process plant
The procurement and installation of a further 29MLD process plant and remineralization system

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The Senior Project Manager – Desalination’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Planning, organizing, executing and successful completion of Water Supply projects within scope, schedule and budget.
On-site management and coordination of each contractor.
Maximizing contractual performance of projects, monitoring contractor performance and deliverables.
Project Controls Management, including Budget, Estimates, Cost tracking, Milestone achievement, Reporting, and Risk management.
Managing and reviewing claims with support from the Water Contracting Group (WCG).
Maintaining a Permits register for compliance.
Ensuring meticulous execution and recording of each project phase and completing the Project Handover process.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

10+ years of relevant professional experience
Proven track record in project management of mid-to-large Capex and Opex projects.
Experience working at a senior level within complex organizations.
Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
Ability to manage and interact with functional units, vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
Understanding of internal processes within NEOM.
Outstanding English language skills, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications:

Degree in relevant field or equivalent
Project Management professional qualifications are preferable
