Assistant Head of School Business and Computing
This position provides essential leadership and management support to the School of Business and the School of Computing at the Tairāwhiti campus. It ensures smooth operations in the absence of the Head of School, overseeing staff management, programme delivery, and budget oversight. The role also involves engaging with external stakeholders and the local community to foster relationships and support marketing efforts. This position is crucial for maintaining educational quality, achieving performance targets, and supporting the strategic development of the Tairāwhiti campus. NOTE: As EIT closes down over the Holiday period, Shortlisting for this role will happen after 13th January 2025. The appointing salary for this role will be between $85,000 and $110,000, dependent on skills and experience. Assistant Head of School Business and Computing is based in the School of Computing primarily on the Tairāwhiti campus, reporting to the Head of School and will be responsible for:- Delegated Leadership : Provide leadership to the School of Business and/or School of Computing in the absence of the Head of School, ensuring smooth operations and continuity.
- Line Management : Oversee staff at the Tairāwhiti campus, including recruitment, orientation, mentorship, and performance reviews for the School of Business, Tourism and Hospitality, and School of Computing.
- Programme and Budget Management : Support the development and implementation of annual plans, manage income and expenses, and ensure effective programme delivery and evaluation.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, support marketing plans, and liaise with the Tairāwhiti community and professional groups.
- Relevant Qualification : A Master's degree or equivalent level of knowledge.
- Leadership and Management Experience : Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
- Cultural Competence : Understanding of cultural safety principles and a commitment to creating a culturally safe environment.
- Communication and Networking Skills : Ability to relate to staff and students at all levels and network with various agencies, including public, private, voluntary, and iwi organizations.
