About the Role:

As the Head of Risk & Compliance , you’ll play a key role in ensuring the business meets its legal and regulatory obligations while actively managing risk across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to person for compliance, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust risk management frameworks. This is a broad-based role to roll up your sleeves.

In this role, you’ll:

1. Develop and maintain risk management and compliance frameworks
2. Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the business adapts
3. Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective mitigation strategies are in place
4. Work closely with stakeholders across all levels of the business
5. Provide training and guidance to ensure a strong compliance culture

What We’re Looking For:

1. Proven experience in a risk management or compliance role within financial services or the legal industry, 5+ years preferred
2. A strong understanding of regulatory requirements in New Zealand’s financial services sector
3. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
4. The ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and across departments and the regulator FMA
5. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
6. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently
