Assistant Manager, Talent Acquisition (12-month contract)

The People and Organisational Development Division leads people strategies and in collaboration with its business partners, builds an achievement culture to achieve sustainable business growth. The department aims to ensure a fit between the people and the overall strategic direction of the Club. The job holder is responsible for supporting the overall TA strategy by managing the full life-cycle recruitment process for lateral hires across Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Corporate Functions portfolio. This includes developing the search approach, actively sourcing candidates, pre-screening, interviewing and presenting qualified candidates to hiring managers, negotiating offers and facilitating the hiring and on-boarding process.
You will:
- Act as a TA advisor to hiring managers on all aspects of the recruitment process, including recruitment strategies and resourcing channels, recruitment cycle timing, coaching and guidance on best practices and sourcing trends for the Corporate Functions portfolio.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle including the development of search plan, execution of the search and delivery to ensure successful closure within the identified time frame.
- Screen, interview and assess quality talent who are the best fit for the role and aligned with the Club’s culture and values.
- Build stakeholder relationships and communicate consistently and proactively throughout the recruitment process to ensure all parties involved in the hiring process are updated and well informed.
- Directly source for candidates through the use of social media sourcing channels such as LinkedIn and other external online candidate databases.
- Actively manage relationships with external recruitment firms to ensure a quick turnaround time and delivery of qualified candidates.
- Act as the Club’s ambassador to position us as an Employer of Choice and create a positive candidate experience throughout the entire recruiting process.
- Provide the hiring managers with market intelligence regarding the talent community/ the competition and industry trends.
The job-holder should have:
- A tertiary qualification, ideally in a HR discipline;
- At least 8 years working in a sizable or multi-national company with ideally 5 years in an in-house Talent Acquisition role.
- Proven experience identifying and hiring talent in IT.
- Demonstrated capability on passive candidate direct outreach, engagement, cultivation.
- Excellent skills and knowledge of competency-based interviewing.
- A service-oriented mind-set with excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with people at all levels.
- A team player who collaborates effectively across the HR division.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced recruitment environment and cope well with pressure.
- Excellent proficiency in written & spoken English, and Chinese.
