Job Description
Qualifications: 2 years’ experience in a similar Horticulture Worker role is required. There are no minimum academic requirements. Additional training will be provided on-the-job. A relevant certification or qualification is a plus but is not required. General Duties / Responsibilities / Experience: - To carry out practical activities and assist in the production of horticultural crops - To plant, cultivate, and harvest crops, flowers, shrubs, and trees. - To prepare soil, plant seeds, and transplant seedlings. - To pruning, weed, water, and fertilize plants - To monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies - To operate and maintain horticultural machinery and tools - To ensure greenhouses, work areas, and equipment are clean and organised - To load and unload plants or horticultural products for delivery or distribution - To follow health and safety guidelines and maintain compliance with environmental regulations - Essential skills include execution of fertilisation, growing of plants and harvesting crops - Further essential skills include maintenance of gardening equipment, maintenance of storage facilities and monitoring of fields - Applicants must be competent to nurse plants, prepare the planting area and propagate plants - Experience is required in pruning plants, storing crops and using gardening equipment - Experience working on a farm is required -2 years’ of relevant experience as a Horticulture Worker is required Annual Remuneration: €34,000.00; Pay rate €16.77 per hour Work Location: Woodrooffe House Partnership, Woodrooffe House, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
