Dean of Administrative and Financial College - Manama - Gulf University
The Dean of College reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.Key Responsibilities:
- Implement University policies and procedures within the College.
- Execute decisions made by the University and College Councils.
- Establish internal committees as needed.
- Approve departmental recommendations and ensure alignment with college objectives.
- Oversee teaching excellence across all Departments at the College.
- Provide guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey.
- Ensure smooth course registration processes for students.
- Approve courses offered each semester and assign faculty accordingly.
- Develop and submit the College's annual budget proposal.
- Supervise the execution of the College research plan.
- Foster community engagement and coordinate activities to serve the community.
- Organize the annual induction program for College faculty and staff, ensuring they are oriented on University, HEC, and BQA regulations and procedures.
- Contribute to University-wide strategic planning initiatives.
- Oversee the academic review process at the College.
- Publish an annual report to the President detailing the College's performance and needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a PhD recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain and have at least 4 years of experience after completing the PhD.
- Demonstrate relevant academic and administrative experience to effectively manage an institution.
- Be of good conduct and not have any convictions or disciplinary actions against them.
- Not compromise the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain or its interests locally or internationally.
- Avoid holding a position in a political association or engaging in political activity.
- Not exceed 60 years of age when assuming office.
- Not be an owner or shareholder of the institution; a written notarized statement is required before commencing duties.
Required Skills:
- High-level administrative, leadership, and decision-making skills to ensure Departments and staff accountability.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Capacity to adapt to changes and evolving circumstances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong record of research and scholarly activities at higher educational institutions.
