Transportation Design Manager

We are currently looking for a Transportation Design Manager for our multi-billion infrastructure project in Doha, Qatar.You will be responsible for the overall management of the transportation design services required by managing a group of technical specialists. Responsibilities include:Management of the delivery of the design of the various portions of the projects by verifying consistency in the design with respect to adherence to the design criteria and required standards.Managing the scope development and tendering process by the engineering staff for procurement of the design consultants as well as third-party reviewers.Participating in the VE and managing all VE studies, constructability, and other workshops; driving the on-schedule submittal of the design deliverables.Keeping the Project Management Team informed as to changes made in the field to ensure timely processing of contract change orders.Maintaining overall knowledge of drawings, specifications, general contracts, and time schedules.Managing the responses to design RFIs and reviewing/comments on change orders.Ensuring all transportation design works are comprehensive and discussed with the various engineers for the best implementation and installation of services in coordination with other parties and contractors.Participating in negotiations with regulatory agencies in public meetings to support the client.Working with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of the project, ensuring that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.Providing necessary technical support and design review/audit services to the Project Management Team ensuring the correctness and quality of implementation of requirements.Supporting the Project Management Director in performing other tasks as deemed necessary related to transportation aspects of the project.Minimum Requirements:15 years of experience, demonstrating experience in a key management role in transportation-related design and/or construction. Experience in the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects with demonstrated experience in designing bridges, highways, expressways, and/or intersections. Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven ability to perform a management role are essential. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations, as well as knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project, is required.A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree and Professional Engineer registration are required.About The Company:Parsons is a leader in many diverse markets such as infrastructure, transportation, water, telecommunications, aviation, commercial, environmental, planning, industrial manufacturing, education, healthcare, life sciences, and homeland security.
