Job Description:

The Project Director is a key leadership position and is a visionary leader and subject matter expert who will drive the strategic implementation and operational excellence of our pharmaceutical systems and supply chain strengthening program. The Project Director has full accountability and authority for the development, execution, and monitoring of the program, including vision and technical strategy, project management and compliance, documentation and communication, client and stakeholder relationships, and coordination and synergy with other relevant initiatives and collaboration with the National Department of Health (NDoH) and USAID.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set the strategic vision for the program in consultation with USAID, ensuring adherence to technical standards and excellence in all program areas.
• Effectively manage the program in compliance with contract requirements, MSH, and donor policies, guidelines, and SOPs.
• Manage relationships with all partners from the program consortium and ensure partners' adherence to their contractual obligations and provision of quality technical deliverables.
• Oversee the execution of the project's results framework, technical strategy, M&E plan, and annual project work plans per contract requirements, approved budget, and MSH technical frameworks and standards.
• Lead program advocacy at local and international levels to build awareness, understanding, and support of key changes, and promote donor investments.

Requirements:

• A master's degree or higher in public health, supply chain management, pharmacy, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of demonstrated professional experience in the management or implementation of international development activities.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in and across supply chain management, pharmaceutical management or cross-cutting systems strengthening activities in South Africa, with international experience an advantage.
