Senior Civil Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Queenstown for a company that offers services focused on land development and infrastructure, and also specialises in civil & water engineering, surveying & geospatial services, and urban design and planning. The projects are done from end to end and the teams consist of professionals at all career stages providing for meaningful consulting experiences on some of New Zealand’s most transformational projects. Reporting to our Business Regional Manager (South Island), this role is based in Queenstown and would suit someone who can work independently but in close co-operation with our team of engineers and surveyors. You will be an excellent communicator in both written and verbal and be a proactive team member. Responsibilities Include

1. Management of a range of public and private sector projects
2. Liaison and relationship management with a diverse range of stakeholders including staff, clients, contractors, specialists and council staff.
3. Designing and planning civil engineering projects
4. Supervising the construction of civil engineering projects
5. Inspecting completed civil engineering projects to ensure they meet all safety and quality standards
6. Writing reports on the progress of civil engineering projects
7. Providing advice and guidance to junior engineers

1. 10+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering, ideally in Christchurch or Queenstown
2. Ideally a chartered civil engineer
3. A strong background in hydrology, design and working knowledge of site supervision of land development and civil infrastructure projects.
4. Land development experience.
5. Must have design experience with 12D
6. Stormwater-focused engineer with experience in HEC-HMS and/or HEC-RAS is highly desirable.
7. Practical ‘on site’ experience
8. Have working experience with local Council standards and codes of practice.
9. You will have solid independent technical report writing skills
