If this appeals to you, please read on!Job Title: BuyerLocation: Coimbatore Responsibilities Manage order backlog after order entry, ensuring that orders flow through the order fulfillment cycle efficiently.Manage inventory (for the commodity managed).Manage open POs and suppliers by commodity.Validate order configuration.Maintain and communicate order delivery dates.Plan production parts per manufacturing production requirements.Work to drive on-time delivery to the customer.Partner with other functions (Manufacturing, Engineering & Finance) to resolve or escalate any issues preventing on-time order fulfillment.Partner with finance to monitor accurate revenue recognition on assigned orders.Execute planning process, create purchase orders, and communicate with suppliers.Review and resolve material shortages daily.Review open purchase orders daily, expedite past due orders, and obtain supplier promise dates.Ensure materials are available on time while simultaneously minimizing inventory.Maintain the accuracy of planning parameters in the MRP system.Drive improvement in supplier on-time delivery.Interact with key suppliers.Requirement & SkillsFour-year degree required.2-5 years of prior work experience in Planning & ProcurementIntermediate to advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft ExcelProficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft WordPLM hands-on usage experience preferred.Experience with ERP & MRP tools.Experience using PC/MRP is highly preferred.Solid understanding of Six Sigma Lean manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and VMIAbility to perform duties with minimal supervision.Self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful, creative, results-oriented, and decisiveAble to lead a project cross-functionally, beginning to end, to achieve objectives.Comfortable with significant autonomy (will have authority to represent and make commitments internally on behalf of the Materials group)Solid understanding of product life cycles -- from concept and design through production, service, sales, and execution -- and their impact on planning and procurement.Flexible and resourcefulCompensationYES offers a stimulating and fun working environment, competitive salaries and benefits, and long-term incentives.Additional InformationYES is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
