About the Company - Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) is a self-financed University established vide Government of Madhya Pradesh Gazette (extraordinary) No 2 of 2016 dated 13 June 2016, under provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 2007. To crystallize the 'Make in India' mission of the Hon'ble Prime Minister and to provide opportunities of Skill development along with vertical mobility leading to gainful employment to our youth, the Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences has been established in Indore under the able leadership of Dr S B Mujumdar, President and Founder, Symbiosis, and Dr Swati Mujumdar, Vice President, Symbiosis Foundation.About the Role - Position OverviewPosition: Director of MechatronicsLocation: Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences - Indore (Madhya Pradesh)Experience: Minimum 7-10 Yrs Exp in Professor Cadre and 5 years' experience academic administration experience. Must have guided minimum 2 PhD Students and should have 2-3 years of Industry ExperienceEducation: BE / B Tech & ME / M Tech with Ph.D.in a relevant field of Mechatronics, Electronic & Telecommunications Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline Responsibilities - Lead the Department of Mechatronics in developing and implementing strategic plans, curriculum and research projects that align with Symbiosis University's goals and the evolving industry. Foster a research-driven environment that supports high-quality publications, grants, and collaborations with other academic and industry entities. Design and enhance curricula that balance theoretical and practical aspects, keeping pace with trends in automation, robotics, AI, and IoT in Mechatronics. Establish partnerships with leading companies for internships, research, and industry-sponsored projects, ensuring students gain hands-on experience. Oversee student engagement programs, advising initiatives, and mentorship opportunities, particularly for students specializing in robotics, automation, and other Mechatronics disciplines. Mentor and develop faculty within the department, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Manage departmental budgets, staff, and resources effectively to enhance productivity and academic output.Preferred Skills - Educational Background: Ph.D. in a relevant field of Mechatronics, Electronic & Telecommunications Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline. Teaching Experience: Minimum of 12 years in academia, including undergraduate and graduate-level teaching. Leadership Experience: At least 5 years as a director or in a comparable leadership role, with demonstrated success in strategic planning and departmental management. Industry Experience: Hands-on experience in the mechatronics or automation industry, providing practical insights and expertise to guide the department's academic and research focus. AGG
