Do you seek collaboration, innovation and impact?Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Shell & Web ProcessThe Shell & Webs Process team supports new process development, technology projects and CIM cases in the Blade R&D Segment.The Shell & Webs Process team is accountable for the blade process elements having the right TRL and MRL maturity. It is also responsible for the manufacturing process design and development of wind turbine blades. The team is made up of enthusiastic employees located in China, Lem and Nakskov Denmark, Isle of Wight UK and in Porto in Portugal. This position involves travel to Vestas blades manufacturing facilities around the world working on existing products and participating in development projects.ResponsibilitiesTravelling worldwide, with a minimum of 90 travel days per yearDevelop processes for the manufacture of large-scale composite componentsDevelop and maintain Process FMEAs to ensure robust and efficient designUtilize Six Sigma methodology to reduce process variation and enhance process controlsPromote the integration of elements into new blade designsIncrease the process maturity of new blade elements across the full value chainCreate Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOM)Support early prototype builds and carry out process verification activities to ensure the intent is metDefine specifications across design, process, and tooling functionsCreate engineering requests and changes via the Engineering Change Management system - ECM (Windchill)Compile requirements and stakeholder feedback to develop, down-select and de-risk component designProvide supplier support, both internal and externalQualificationsHold a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with practical knowledge of composite manufacturing e.g. infusion technology, component assemblyExperience within blade process for manufacturing or prototype environmentsExperience with running optimization and process development projects in manufacturing environmentsExperience with statistical data & tolerance analysisExperience in coordinating FMEAsGood communication skills in English, both orally and in writingMotivated and responsible, focused on meeting project deadlines while working effectively with remote managersDisplay a high degree of flexibility and problem-solving skillsProactive and action-oriented, defined by facts and dataCustomer-oriented, with a service mindset and significant quality focusStrong team focus, enjoying collaboration with diverse individuals across various international locationsAbility to thrive in a motivated and ever-changing work environmentHigh focus on health and safety within new processes and daily workGood communication skills with a range of stakeholdersWhat We OfferWe offer an exciting job with significant opportunities for professional and personal development in an inspiring environment at a leading wind turbine producer.
