Assistant Accountant

Job Description: Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This permanent role will involve supporting the Head of Finance with a variety of accounting responsibilities and contributing to the accurate preparation of financial records. Job Responsibilities Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts. Oversee month-end close activities, including journal posting. Supervise and support accounts payable processes, such as GRN and invoice postings, purchase reconciliations, and payment runs. Manage weekly payroll processing and reporting. Prepare and submit financial reports, including weekly and monthly KPIs, VAT filings, Intrastat, and other compliance documentation. Handle sales ledger and bank reconciliation functions. Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required. Experience Required Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role. Part-qualified Accountant or Accounting Technician. Proficiency in preparing management accounts. Hands-on payroll processing experience. Advanced numerical skills and attention to detail. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Previous experience with ERP systems for managing accounts (AR, AP, GL) and stock (PO, GR, WMS) is advantageous. Desirable Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Educational Requirements A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
