SUN Lead Consultant

Job Purpose:

The role involves strengthening SUN Networks' coordination, developing and implementing quarterly work plans, tracking public finances for nutrition, conducting technical appraisals of development schemes, and providing support for nutrition-sensitive initiatives at the provincial and district levels. Additionally, the position requires enhancing the capacity of P&D MSNC teams, sectoral departments, and district teams, providing technical support for ECD programs, and facilitating advocacy activities through SUN movement in Punjab. The candidate will also contribute to regional/divisional advocacy events and produce quarterly reports on MSN/SUN activities while supporting integrated nutrition communication and awareness campaigns during designated weeks.

SUN Networks Advocacy activities executedPublic Finances for Nutrition tracked, and inputs provided toPublic spending schemes for Nutrition in Province (PC-1s/ADP Development)

Public finance tracking conducted, providing technical/financial appraisal of nutrition related PSDP schemes, with SWOT Analysis of Public spending on Nutrition and recommendations for ADPS

Technical appraisal of PC-1s/Annual Development schemes with nutrition specific/sensitive sectors conducted to support financing/budgeting for Nutrition sector

Technical support and guidance to departments/sectors for nutrition sensitive schemes and inclusion of nutrition in ADPs

Support to the District teams from Priority Districts on development of nutrition sensitive ADP schemesNutrition Program Coordination and Review strengthened through P&D Board/SUN unitSupport to the P&D Board for Coordination related to the Provincial Nutrition Steering Committee and Pre-Steering Committee meetings

Support to P&D Board for Coordination related to ECD (Steering Committee, TWG etc)

Supporting Strategic meetings for development of Strategies/Plans/Budgets related to Nutrition

Data Analysis for Regional/Divisional level Program Reviews for Nutrition Program

Program reviews for Priority DistrictsCapacity building for P&D MSNC team, Sectoral Departments and District TeamsCapacity building for MSNC/sectors/districts to plan, implement, and monitor Multi-sectoral nutrition Programs (Provincial focal points and DMACs from Priority Districts)

Development and roll out of District level Operational Plans for MSN programs supported in high priority DistrictsTechnical support for ECD ProgramsTo support coordination of the implementation of key family care practices and other ECD-related interventions among key departments including health, and education among others

Liaise with academic institutions for the rollout of ECD index, the establishment of the ECD centre of excellence, and capacity-strengthening activities on ECDAdvocacy Activities supported through the SUN movement in PunjabAdvocacy on Nutrition Priorities to Parliamentarians, decision makers, Civil Society stakeholders and opinion Leaders through SUN networks including CSA, SUNAR, Governmental, Parliamentarian and UN networks

Advocacy to Parliamentarians and stakeholders for supporting Nutrition legislation related to Breastfeeding, Breast Milk Substitute codes, fortification, maternity coverage

# of Regional/Divisional Advocacy events supported with participation and media coverage of these events
