We think BIG, act BOLD and execute with PURPOSE in all that we do, and will stop at nothing to cultivate the ultimate cannabis experience for our community.Job summaryWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager of Maintenance and Engineering to work closely with the corporate engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the River facility. This individual will oversee the identification and prioritization of site-level engineering projects, manage the maintenance programs, and partner with the Director, Engineering and Senior Director, Operations in the site-specific capital investment planning. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.As Senior Manager, Maintenance and Engineering, you will be responsible for:Maintenance Management:Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maintain a safe environment, ensure product quality, minimize downtime, and ensure optimal equipment performance.Establish maintenance schedules, protocols, and procedures to optimize performance of assets and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, GACP, Health Canada etc).Coordinate with production teams to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.Oversee and optimize spare parts program, ensuring costs are effectively managed and business continuity is maintained.Lead site-level change management for new infrastructure and assets, to ensure effective planning, successful implementation, deliver against startup goals and update or establish new maintenance programs as needed.Capital Investment Planning:Develop and maintain a strategic capital investment plan to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the site.Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and make recommendations to senior leadership.Collaborate with corporate engineering, finance, and procurement teams to secure funding, procure equipment and consumables, and manage on-site trades and vendor relationships.Team Leadership and Development:Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the reliability and facilities maintenance teams.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the department.Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports.Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the technical skills and capabilities of the team.Foster a collaborative environment between site maintenance teams, sharing maintenance expertise across sites, supporting network-wide programs such as calibration and controls, sharing best practices and identifying opportunities to optimize performance and results across the operations.Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:Ensure that all maintenance and engineering activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards pertaining to facility operations, equipment safety, and environmental compliance.Collaborate with regulatory affairs and compliance teams to address any compliance issues or audit findings.Asset Management and Lifecycle Planning:Develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize the lifecycle of equipment and infrastructure.Conduct regular assessments of asset condition, performance, and depreciation to inform maintenance and replacement decisions.Develop long-term asset replacement plans and budget forecasts to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of critical assets.Data Analysis and Performance Metrics:Utilize data analytics tools and performance metrics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, engineering, and facility operations.Analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to optimize equipment reliability, uptime, and productivity.Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to communicate performance trends, project milestones, and strategic recommendations.You would be the best fit for this role if you have:Proven track record of successfully managing maintenance programs, executing engineering projects, and leading projects including capital investment initiatives.Strong project management skills with experience in project planning, budgeting, and risk management.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and best practices in maintenance and engineering.Experience working in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated industries is a plus.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
