A recognized thought leader and founded in 1914, Canada Cartage dominates the industry by delivering innovative fleet solutions.Position SummaryReporting to the Manager, Warehouse Systems, the IT Project Manager will lead key projects for Canada Cartage that have a strong technology component. This will consist initially of a large multi-year transformational project that will benefit from an experienced Project Manager who can apply the rigor necessary to keep it on track. The responsibilities will evolve to include other projects where technology plays a prominent role. We are always growing, always innovating and looking at leveraging technology to bring value. We are looking for someone who shares that same passion and would grow with us.Location: 6767 Davand Drive, Mississauga (Hybrid)Schedule: 40 Hours Monday to Friday. Weekend and afterhours work could be required based on the type of project activity or phase.Some travel may be required depending on the scope of the project.What you will doPrimary:Lead and manage end-to-end Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation projects, ensuring successful deployment within scope, budget, and timeline.Manage the clear definition of scope, deliverables, success criteria and work breakdown structures for projects with all levels of team members and stakeholders.Ensure the proper project team is built, staffing levels are maintained matching the needs of the project, members are setup for success and held accountable for delivery.Proactively develop, direct and monitor the progress on a project by managing the plan and resources.Manage changes to scope associated with the project in a timely and suitable manner. Group changes into releases and manage expectations of stakeholders. Ensure the impacts of a change are understood.Create and execute on an effective communications plan.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between internal and external teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment for successful WMS deployment.Leverage subject matter expertise to implement tools/templates/techniques necessary for consistency in the delivery of project deliverables where they don't already exist.Develop metrics to measure project performance and success during and after the rollout.May lead and guide the work of personnel on the project.Build strong business relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success and management of expectations.Develop subject matter expertise in the business domain they are operating in and the systems/solutions they are supporting.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout the WMS implementation lifecycle.Secondary:Use process mapping skills to clearly document business processes or project processes.Use analytical skills and knowledge of systems and processes to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, identify gaps, perform root cause analysis, suggest improvements and arrive at value driven solutions.May coach or assist with preparing training documentation/SOPs and train both users and other trainers on system use.What You'll BringMust haves:Sound project management skills developed over 5+ years of experience managing complex projects with a focus on Warehouse Management System Implementation projects.Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and software development processes relevant to a WMS implementation.Experience working within the Warehouse Management or 3PL space along with a good understanding of the business lifecycle managed within the Applications supporting it.Ability to manage multiple WMS implementation projects concurrently and recognizes the importance of prioritization.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).Keen self-starter who is interested to learn new technologies and enjoys leading change.Someone who relishes autonomy and can self-initiate to cut through ambiguity.Active person who shows initiative and is motivated by the next challenge.Experience working within Transportation and Logistics or related industries that have overlap.Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working in a very 'team first' environment.Technically competent with the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.Successfully pass a criminal background check.Nice to have's:Prior work experience as a Business, Systems or Applications Analyst.Logistics industry certifications.IT industry certifications.Lean Six Sigma or process improvement training.Exposure to driver facing mobile technology.Experience using Wrike, ManageEngine or other work management tools.Completion of a post-secondary degree in an analytical specialization (Engineering, Sciences or Business with IT concentration preferred) or equivalent practical experience.Why people love working for Canada CartageCohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere.Meaningful opportunities for career growth.Company wide recognition initiatives designed to recognize employees when they demonstrate outstanding customer service, teamwork and our core values.Perks - discounted hotels, car rentals, entertainment, gym memberships, phone plans, electronics, to name a few.Fun events throughout the year, like summer barbeques and driver-appreciation week that regularly bring us together.We give back to the communities in which we operate by volunteering and donating to local charities.We are a strong company that weathers the storm through pandemics and recessionary periods, so that we can benefit from good economic environments.We are a top employer!Canada Cartage has been recognized on the Forbes list of Canada's Best Employers for six straight years in a row.Trucking HR has announced that Canada Cartage has again been selected for the 8th year in a row, as one of Canada's Top Fleet Employers.
