Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Information Technology Group, Information Technology Group > IT Engineering General Summary: Observability - DevOps Engineer DevOps Engineers provide technical expertise and support our internal partners as they go through the observability onboarding process in the Observability platform to ensure reliability of their critical applications and services. Proficiency in Infrastructure monitoring tools and also specific to Network monitoring portfolio. You will work with various teams to resolve concerns, escalate issues, and serve as a subject matter expert. If you want to join a friendly, passionate team, we’d love to meet you! This position will:
- Understand Observability Tools platform in detail, to best deliver solutions to our partners, support other team members using those solutions, and to monitor the health of those solutions.
- Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain infrastructure and software to support IT observability of critical applications.
- Support our internal partners by helping answer questions about the environment, troubleshooting, tracking feature requests and bugs, escalating issues, reporting or calling incidents, when necessary, provide Tier 3/4 on call support.
- Manage services for log collection, operational metrics, distributed tracing, and more. Automate systems for sustainable scaling and improved reliability.
- Participate in sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience with DevOps monitoring or architecture tools.
- Previous experience with one of the following monitoring platforms: Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, NewRelic, Network Monitoring, SCOM, Pagerduty.
- Experienced in systems administrations: Windows or Linux, Tool upgrades.
- Familiar with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
- Someone who values a pragmatic approach, code simplicity, and efficiency.
- A self-starter and creative problem solver, willing to take on hard problems, and work autonomously when necessary.
- Previous experience in one of the following: Python/JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ability to work with global teams across time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- OR 1+ year of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical field (e.g., Business, Humanities, Marketing), or related field.
- OR 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a High school diploma or equivalent.
- Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
